Secret Parenting in the Workplace

Hello and welcome to Episode 46 of the People Powered Business Podcast!

Today we are chatting about something that I bet most of you have seen in one workplace or another, whether it's something you've experienced yourself or have witnessed from others.

That is the concept of 'Secret Parenting' the act of actively hiding or minimising our involvement in parental responsibilities with our colleagues and managers, for fear that it will have some sort of detrimental effect on our careers, our roles or the perception others have of us at work.

Whilst COVID has done a whole lot to help put an end to this trend, is there more we can be doing as employers to reduce the likelihood of this happening in our workplace.

As mentioned, if you would love to connect with us further head over to Facebook to join our free group for business owners, leaders and managers HR Support for Australian Businesses.
